The CPC at 105: Still in Its Prime, Advancing Steadily Toward National Rejuvenation

July 1, 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). At a gathering celebrating the CPC’s 105th founding anniversary in Beijing, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech, in which he looked back on the glorious journey the CPC has traveled, looked ahead to the bright prospects for the cause of the Party and the people, and mobilized the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups to forge ahead confidently towards the great goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
In the past 105 years, the CPC has braved wind and rain, and remained true to its original aspiration and founding mission. One hundred and five years ago, as the Chinese people and the Chinese nation were undergoing a great awakening, and Marxism-Leninism was becoming closely integrated with the Chinese workers’ movement, the CPC was born. Since then, the Chinese people and the Chinese nation have had their strongest backbone. And China, a poor and weak country that had suffered from both domestic turmoil and foreign aggression, began an epic transformation. One hundred and five years on, the CPC has stayed committed to the original aspiration of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. It has united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in a tireless struggle, achieving great success in the new-democratic revolution, in socialist revolution and construction, in reform, opening up, and socialist modernization, and in advancing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. This is the most magnificent epic in the millennium-long history of the Chinese nation.
The 105-year-old CPC has profoundly transformed the future of the Chinese people. It has led the Chinese people in toppling the three mountains of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat-capitalism and establishing the People’s Republic of China (PRC), which made the people masters of the country. This put an end to China’s history as a semi-colonial, semi-feudal society and enabled China to make a historic transformation from a millennia-old feudal autocracy to a people’s democracy. Today, China has achieved the historic transformation from raising the living standards of its people from bare subsistence to an overall level of moderate prosperity, and then ultimately to moderate prosperity in all respects. The Chinese people, with their destiny firmly kept in their own hands, are striding toward a better future with confidence, self-reliance and strength.
The 105-year-old CPC has blazed a right path toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. By adapting the basic tenets of Marxism to China’s specific realities and its fine traditional culture, the CPC has successfully blazed and upheld the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China has completed, in just a short span of several decades, the process of industrialization that had taken developed countries several centuries, and created the two miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability. Chinese modernization is showing a bright prospect.
The 105-year-old CPC has demonstrated the strong vitality of Marxism. It has continued to free minds, seek truth from facts, move with the times, and take a realistic and pragmatic approach. By keeping adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, it has established and enriched the theoretic results of such adaption. In the new era, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was formed as the scientific guideline for building a great country and rejuvenating the nation. Under its sound guidance, China has made new historic achievements in economic development, sci-tech innovation, livelihood improvement, ecological civilization, state governance and other areas.
The 105-year-old CPC has had a profound influence on the course of world history. The CPC stands on the right side of history and the progress of human civilization, and upholds the common good of the world. It advances the building of a community with a shared future for humanity and advocates the common values of all peoples which are peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom. It has proposed the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, contributing Chinese wisdom, proposals and strength to responses to global challenges, improvement of global governance, and the pursuit of common development. China’s development has not only benefited 1.4 billion Chinese people, but also injected stability and positive energy to world peace and development.
Through 105 years of unremitting efforts, the CPC has become the world’s largest governing party with major global influence. It has maintained its strong ability to innovate, power to unite and energy to fight. The reason why the CPC is still in its prime after over a hundred years from its founding lies in its fine qualities which include the dedication to the pursuit of truth, the deep bonds with the people, the determination to undertake historic mission, the readiness to follow the trend of the times, the courage and competence to fight, and the commitment to self-strengthening. On the new journey, the CPC will continue to uphold the Party’s overall leadership, take the people-centered approach, remain committed to governing itself strictly, use the Party’s own transformation to steer social transformation, and unite and lead the Chinese people in securing new historic success.
Although China and Sudan are far apart geographically, we have a long history of friendly exchanges. Over the 67 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Sudan relations have developed steadily, no matter how the international landscape may evolve. The two countries have always understood and supported each other on issues concerning our respective core interests and major concerns. China firmly supports Sudan in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions and safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. China stands ready to work with Sudan to create greater synergy between our development strategies, promote mutually-beneficial cooperation in various fields, and enhance the exchange of governance experiences. In doing so, we will deepen our traditional friendship, and jointly safeguard international and regional peace and stability.
